Buddies Without Borders (BWB) Clubs have continued to grow around the world since 2020. Students interact online across time zones, borders and ideologies every weekend through SDGs-themed debates, cultural presentations and local action sharing. To help the Clubs stay on pace are our Club Coordinators. We are so lucky to have these university students setting examples of what it means to be a good global citizen for our Club Members:


Club Coordinator for Ghana, Jordan, Turkey, UAE. Moderator of Section B Global Chats
Chiedza hails from Zimbabwe, but has spent most of her life traveling around the world. She is currently studying Political Science and International Relations at Sciences Po in France. She joined the Be the Change forum and won the best video presentation in August 2022. Throughout high school she was involved in MUN, Global Advocacy and English tutoring, and was also an international student ambassador for her school. She continues her involvement with student life in university through her leadership positions in the African Students Association and the Fashion Club, whilst also representing Sciences Po as an ambassador for City of Reims.

Miyu Aoki is a junior at DePauw University, double majoring in Economics and Physics with a minor in Mathematics. She is currently studying microeconomic theory at the University of Oxford and is passionate about analyzing the world through a mathematical lens with key areas in industrial engineering and optimization. Having lived in five countries, founded the BWB Club in high school, and served as president of the DePauw International Student Association, she has gained a deep appreciation for international collaboration and cross-cultural understanding.

Krish Iyer is a sophomore at UNC Charlotte, majoring in Computer Science with a concentration in Data Science and a minor in Computer Engineering. He is passionate about exploring the intersection of data and artificial intelligence, having conducted research on the impact of AI writing tools on formal writing skills in educational and professional contexts. As a Teaching Assistant, he helps students build foundational programming knowledge and confidence. He is also an active member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

Manager of International Club Meet-ups
Joy Yang, from Taiwan, is studying Dentistry at Yan Ming Medical School. Once part of BWB, she led the Best Team in the Human Migration Forum in 2021 and thus took on the international internship program. She then ran her BWB Club in her high school and promoted the global pen pal project to facilitate friendship and collaboration between BWB clubs around the world. Joy has also taken part in national debate tournaments and came in second with her teammates. Joy would like to be part of the BWB again because she loves the people she met and the experience she gained in this amazing international community.

Camila is a year one student at Universidad Privada Boliviana, studying Financial Engineering. She and her team won the Best Team Award in the Human Migration Forum in 2021, and led her BWB Club in Saint Andrew's School in La Paz, Bolivia.
Camila is passionate about social impact, she actively engages in volunteer work and extracurricular initiatives that foster positive change.
