This week the Green is the New Gold Online Forum kicks into high gear: the students are trying to find their way out of competing interests and complicated considerations to identify ONE approach to form a business concept that hopefully will make the green economy a reality.
To bring us closer to the finish line this weekend are two professionals from Costa Rica, one of the happiest places to live on earth:
Dr. Alejandra Barahona is the host of our Destination Workshop this week. She is the Executive Director at the Center for International Programs & Sustainability Studies at Veritas University. Dr. Barahona is committed to education initiatives with a socio-economic and environmental impact focus both at local and global levels. She is passionate about creating educational opportunities for students who want to explore sustainability and social justice in Costa Rica.
Destination Workshops are designed to help students see how they may continue developing their passion in higher ed or in the field. These workshops are free and are open to everyone, but you must RSVP to receive the Google Meet link. RSVP here.
This week's guest speaker is Vanessa Boshoff. Vanessa Boshoff is an eco-tourism business practitioner. She is a wildlife naturalist, writer, television personality, photographer, TedX presenter, and adventure guide. She has won a BBC/Time-Life Natural History Innovation Grant and her nature television work can be seen on Animal Planet, National Geographic, Smithsonian, CNN, National Wildlife Federation and beyond.
Thank you, Dr. Barahona and Mrs. Boshoff!
If you (aged 12-18) want to be part of the solutions, the next Forum is open for application. The Social Media for Global Good Online Forum will challenge future influencers to put their digital power to good use. You are invited to join other young thinkers across the borders, make friends and make the world a better place. We look forward to working with you!
