Nurturing Spirit - BWB Club Spotlight on Shonan Shirayuri High School, Japan

Some cultures are naturally more individualistic and some are more collective. The BWB Club at Shonan Shirayuri takes the community to heart in everything they do. Taking care of everyone's needs, treating everyone equally, politeness and consideration for others in general - these attributes shine through the students' nurturing spirit constantly.

Last year the BWB Club at Shonan Shirayuri worked on beach cleaning, helped out in soup kitchens, and organized activities with under-served children. Under the English teacher Ms. Miwa Kurihara's loving guidance, club co-presidents Anna Suzuki and Kanako Jinno are planning to do more about food donation and tutoring. Their club members are Runami Kitazawa, Mio Uehara, Mio Fujii, Kokoro Yuge, Fuko Koito, Saaya Yoshida, Koto Sakama, Mika Tomiki, Megumi Nakamura, Emma NIshiwaki. Yuka Chiba and Yukako Omori.
