The Zero Hunger Zero Waste Online Forum is entering the Final Global Sessions this weekend on December 10th / 11th. Ten teams of students from 25 countries worked together for more than a month crafting proposals for their assigned countries. Their presentations will be open to your voting next week.
Through the process of understanding each other's perspectives and work styles, the students learned the art of stepping up in order to meet their team goals, as well as holding back when necessary so that all can shine.
To acknowledge the importance of finding that balance between taking on the leadership role vs. providing support so others may lead, there will be several awards announced on Sunday, December 18th. We are excited to announce that the Honorable Dr. Teta V. Banks will be our guest speaker during the Award Ceremony.
The Honorable Dr. Teta V. Banks is a diplomat, educator and human rights advocate. Her parents were civil rights colleagues of Dr. King and Mrs. Rosa Parks. Dr. Banks is the first woman of African descent to be elected as Chair of the United Nations Association- USA and also to the Executive Committee of the World Federation of United Nations Associations. The International Forum, established in 1988, is a leading educational and corporate consulting organization that provides training, analysis, research, speakers' series, curriculum development, and educational international experiences throughout the world.
